The MSA ALTAIR 5X is the most capable gas detector in the ALTAIR lineup, measuring up to 6 gases at once and now available with an integrated PID sensor for VOC detection. Driven by MSA XCell Sensor Technology, the 5X delivers faster response times, better stability, longer sensor life, and lower calibration gas consumption than the alternatives — all in a housing engineered to survive a 10-foot drop.

Gas Detection

• Combustible gases (LEL and volume %), oxygen, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, ammonia, chlorine, VOCs, and more depending on configuration
• Integrated PID sensor option for accurate, reliable VOC detection with programmable reference factors

• Typical sensor life: 4+ years for combustible, O2, CO/H2S, SO2, CO/NO2, and high-concentration CO sensors
• Typical sensor life: 3+ years for NH3 and Cl2 sensors
• Most sensor response and clear times under 15 seconds

• Uses approximately half the test gas of competitors
• Rapid bump test: results in under 10 seconds for most configurations
